Animation Basics in Adobe After Effects CC 2017 for HDTV

I’ve been working on a project recently that involves creating animations for display on an HDTV monitor.┬áIn this video I demonstrate how to use Adobe After Effects CC to:

  • Set up a new composition
  • Create basic animations using transform settings
  • Export for HDTV 1080p to .mp4 using Adobe Media Encoder.

A few notes

I find its best to lay out your elements out as you’d like them to appear in you final frame and/or for each key transitional frame in your composition. Then work backwards from that point to animate the objects into the scene.

If you are new to animation in After Effects, it can be a bit of a challenge. You may want to jump in and start doing fancy things right away, but I recommend keeping things simple and getting to know your workflow. Once you get the workflow down pat you’ll have more freedom to experiment.

Good luck and let me know how your animation went by leaving a comment on the video in YouTube!
